Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • 1 medium carrot finely grated
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil melted

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe banana in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the finely grated carrot, oat flour, egg, and coconut oil to the bowl.
  4. Stir until a thick, soft dough forms that holds together.
  5. Lightly flour a work surface and roll the dough out to 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into shapes with small cookie cutters or slice into small squares or rectangles.
  7. Arrange the pieces on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the treats are lightly golden and firm to the touch.
  9. Let the treats cool completely on the baking sheet before serving to your dog.
  10. Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature, refrigerate, or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

- Store at room temperature for up to 5 days, in the refrigerator for up to 14 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Thaw frozen treats in the refrigerator or at room temperature before serving.
- Coconut oil makes slightly softer treats; you may omit it for a drier, firmer texture.
- You may substitute whole wheat flour for oat flour if your dog tolerates wheat well.
