- 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- 2. Mash the ripe banana in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- 3. Stir in the unsweetened applesauce and peanut butter until evenly combined.
- 4. Fold in the rolled oats and cinnamon (if using) to create a uniform mixture.
- 5. Gently fold in the blueberries, being careful not to crush them.
- 6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, pressing it down firmly to ensure it holds its shape.
- 7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the edges turn lightly golden.
- 8. Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely.
- 9. Slice the cooled mixture into appropriately sized bars for your dog.
Notes
Ensure the peanut butter used is xylitol-free as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
For a firmer texture, bake the bars slightly longer.
You can substitute the applesauce with pumpkin puree for added fiber.
Store the bars in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for extended storage.
