Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mashed beetroot, grated carrot, and egg, and stir until well blended.
- Add the oat flour to the bowl and mix until a soft dough forms that holds together when pressed.
- Roll the dough into about 20 small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Gently flatten each ball with your fingers or the back of a spoon to form small discs.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes, until the bites are set and feel firm around the edges.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the snack bites cool completely on a rack before serving them to your dog.
Notes
- Use only plain cooked beetroot with no vinegar, salt, oil, or seasonings.
- Let the treats cool completely before storing to avoid excess moisture and mold.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- For longer storage, freeze the bites in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months and thaw briefly before serving.
