DIY Greenies: Spinach & Parsley Chews Your Dog Will Love

These homemade green dental chews are packed with spinach, parsley, and gentle dog-safe ingredients to help freshen breath and support oral health.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups oat flour
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed
  • 2 tbsp fresh curly parsley finely chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh spinach finely blended or minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 3 –4 tbsp water or low-sodium chicken broth
  • ¼ tsp turmeric optional
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint optional

Method
 

  1. 1. Wash spinach and parsley thoroughly and pat dry.
  2. 2. Chop spinach finely or blend with 1 tbsp water to form a paste; chop parsley finely.
  3. 3. In a bowl, combine oat flour, ground flaxseed, spinach, and parsley.
  4. 4. In another bowl, whisk egg and melted coconut oil.
  5. 5. Pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture and mix until dough forms.
  6. 6. Add water or broth 1 tbsp at a time until dough is firm.
  7. 7. Roll dough into shapes; either small ropes, biscuits, or mini bites.
  8. 8. Preheat oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  9. 9. Arrange chews with space between them and bake for 35–45 minutes.
  10. 10. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

For extra hardness, turn off oven and let treats sit inside for 1–2 extra hours.
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
