Dog Friendly Peanut Butter Christmas Pudding Cookies Recipe

These festive holiday dog treats look like mini Christmas puddings but are made with simple, safe, wholesome ingredients your dog will love!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour or oat flour for sensitive tummies
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter xylitol-free
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 –4 tbsp water as needed
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt no sugar, no flavor
  • 1 –2 tsp cornstarch optional
  • Tiny shavings of carob chips
  • Mashed banana
  • Natural beetroot powder + yogurt
  • Spinach powder + yogurt

Method
 

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and oats.
  3. 3. Add peanut butter and egg, mixing until dough forms.
  4. 4. Add water 1 tbsp at a time until dough is soft and kneadable.
  5. 5. Roll dough into 1–1.5 inch balls, flattening slightly.
  6. 6. Place cookies 1 inch apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. 7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
  8. 8. Allow cookies to cool completely.
  9. 9. Mix yogurt with cornstarch (optional) for icing.
  10. 10. Drizzle or pipe yogurt over cookies.
  11. 11. Add decorations: carob shavings, beetroot yogurt dots, and spinach yogurt leaves.
  12. 12. Let decorations set in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.

Notes

Ensure peanut butter is xylitol-free as it's toxic to dogs.
Keep decorated cookies refrigerated to maintain icing firmness.
