Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and chop the strawberries, leaving the blueberries whole.
- In a medium bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and peanut butter and mix until the peanut butter is evenly distributed.
- Add the chopped strawberries and whole blueberries and gently fold them into the flour mixture.
- Add the egg and stir until the mixture starts to come together, then gradually add the water until a soft, workable dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into small shapes using cookie cutters or a knife.
- Arrange the cut treats on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the treats are golden brown and set.
- Remove from the oven and let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your dog.
Notes
- Use only unsweetened peanut butter made without xylitol, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
- Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3–4 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
- For longer storage, freeze the baked treats in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 2 months.
- Adjust treat size based on your dog’s size and daily calorie needs.
