Method
- 1. Cook the carrots until soft, then mash or puree.
- 2. If using frozen blueberries, thaw slightly before blending into a puree.
- 3. In one bowl, mix half the oat flour, carrot puree, and half the egg to form an orange dough.
- 4. In another bowl, combine the remaining oat flour, blueberry puree, and remaining egg to create a purple dough.
- 5. Adjust each dough’s consistency with water if needed.
- 6. Roll out strips from both colors and twist them together securely.
- 7. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake twists for about 25–30 minutes until firm and golden.
- 8. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Never use xylitol—it’s toxic to dogs!
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
