Parsley & Mint Dog Biscuits for Fresh Canine Breath

These crunchy homemade biscuits combine parsley and mint—two natural breath fresheners—to help reduce doggy breath while providing a healthy snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley or 2–3 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp dried mint or 2–3 tbsp fresh chopped mint
  • 1 large egg
  • cup unsweetened applesauce or plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted
  • 1 –3 tbsp water as needed

Method
 

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. If using fresh herbs, rinse, pat dry, and finely chop them.
  3. 3. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, parsley, and mint.
  4. 4. Add the egg, applesauce or yogurt, and melted coconut oil to the dry ingredients.
  5. 5. Mix until a dough forms, adding water 1 tablespoon at a time until smooth and kneadable.
  6. 6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
  7. 7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. 8. Bake for 25 minutes until golden and firm.
  9. 9. Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
Freeze for up to 3 months for longer storage.
