Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil melted
  • 1/4 cup water

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Finely chop the parsley and mint and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the egg to the bowl and stir until the herbs are evenly coated and combined.
  4. Add the oat flour and coconut oil to the bowl and mix until combined.
  5. Pour in the water and stir until a firm, slightly tacky dough forms that holds together when pressed.
  6. Lightly flour a work surface with a little oat flour and transfer the dough onto it.
  7. Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness using a rolling pin.
  8. Cut the dough into sticks or use small cookie cutters to make bite size shapes.
  9. Arrange the pieces on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each treat.
  10. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the treats are firm and edges look slightly golden.
  11. Turn off the oven and, if you want extra crunchy treats, let them sit in the warm oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
  12. Remove the baking sheet and let the treats cool completely before serving or storing.

Notes

- Store completely cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- Refrigerate for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 2 months for longer storage.
- Always check with your veterinarian before introducing new treats, especially if your dog has health issues or allergies.
- Break treats into smaller pieces for toy breeds or dogs that gulp their food.
