Method
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. Drain sardines and mash with a fork until flaky.
- 3. In a bowl, combine oat flour, rolled oats, dried catnip, parsley, and turmeric.
- 4. In another bowl, whisk mashed sardines, egg, and yogurt or applesauce.
- 5. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until a thick dough forms.
- 6. If dough is too thick, add 1 tbsp water; if too sticky, add more oat flour.
- 7. Roll dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 8. Flatten slightly with a fork.
- 9. Bake for 20 minutes until golden and crunchy.
- 10. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
Never use sardines in oil or sauce due to added calories and salt.
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for 3 months.
