- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- 2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and oats.
- 3. In another bowl, whisk together egg, applesauce, and oil.
- 4. Divide mixture into two parts; mix one half with carrot purée, the other with spinach purée.
- 5. Roll out each dough on a floured surface. Stack and fold to create marbled layers, then roll flat to 1/4-inch thick.
- 6. Use a cookie cutter to shape treats. Place on lined tray.
- 7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
- 8. Let treats cool completely before serving.
Notes
Always use unsalted, unseasoned spinach and carrots.
If dough is too dry, add water or broth; if sticky, add more flour.
Substitute oat flour for wheat flour if gluten-sensitive.
