Sweet Potato and Oatmeal Dog Cake: A Tail-Wagging Treat!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mashed sweet potato cooked, plain
  • 1 cup rolled oats or oat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or water
  • Optional 1–2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
  • Optional 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small cake pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, combine mashed sweet potato, eggs, and applesauce. Mix until smooth.
  3. 3. Stir in oat flour and optional peanut butter and cinnamon until batter is thick and uniform.
  4. 4. Spoon batter into prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  5. 5. Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. 6. Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

Ensure peanut butter is xylitol-free.
Use unsweetened, plain ingredients.
